Gayathramma, wife of late Beerappa, a resident of Thegginahalli village in Nyamathi taluk of district, was admitted to the hospital due to brain failure. However, Gayathramma died on September 12 without any success in treatment. She found meaning even in death by donating the remaining organs of the deceased, such as the heart, kidney, liver, lungs and two cataracts, to Manipal Hospital on HAL Road, Bangalore.
Expressing appreciation for the work of her children Santhosh, Sangeetha, Chaitra and Prashanth to donate organs to save the lives of others in memory of their mother, the organ donation will be held as per the rules. Similarly, District Health and Family Welfare Officer Dr Shanmukhappa said that people should come forward to save lives by donating organs of the deceased.
