FIH Hockey Pro League starts December 9 in Argentina

The 2025-26 season of the FIH Hockey Pro League will kick off on December 9 with matches in Ireland and Argentina, bringing together the world’s top hockey teams. This will be the seventh season of the “League of the Best,” featuring 144 exciting matches.

Two new teams will join this year: the Ireland women and Pakistan men, both promoted from the FIH Hockey Nations Cup. Their entry adds fresh competition and new rivalries. The winners of the league will earn a spot at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

The season opener will see Germany face Belgium in Ireland, followed by the Netherlands playing against Pakistan in Argentina. Early matches will take place in Ireland and Argentina, involving top teams such as Belgium, England, Germany, and the Netherlands. The season will wrap up on June 28, 2026, with final matches across Belgium, Germany, and England. Both the Netherlands men and women enter as defending champions and will look to keep their titles amid a tough competition.
