DCP Urges Stricter Enforcement to Improve Road Safety and Flow
To ease congestion during peak traffic hours, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic-East) conducted an on-ground inspection at two major junctions—Kasturi Nagar Outer Ring Road and Marathahalli Bridge Junction—on Monday. The visit was carried out in coordination with traffic police teams from KR Puram Traffic Station and HAL Airport Traffic Station.
During the inspection, the DCP reviewed traffic movement at both busy points, which often witness heavy vehicular pressure during rush hours. He instructed sector PSIs and their staff to adopt immediate measures to prevent illegal roadside parking around the junctions. Such parking, he pointed out, frequently leads to bottlenecks and increases the risk of accidents.
The officer also emphasized the importance of maintaining smooth traffic flow by enforcing stricter checks on violators. Officials were asked to step up patrolling during peak hours and ensure that towing measures are promptly implemented against vehicles parked in no-parking zones. The inspection further covered pedestrian safety, with the DCP directing that zebra crossings and signals be kept unobstructed. He stressed that commuters’ convenience and road discipline must remain top priorities for field officers.
By addressing the issues of unauthorized parking and congestion at these high-density junctions, the Bengaluru Traffic Police aims to enhance commuter experience and reduce delays. Regular inspections, the DCP assured, will continue across traffic-heavy corridors to identify challenges and introduce swift corrective measures. The Initiative highlights the department’s broader commitment to ensuring efficient traffic management and safer roads in the city.
