‘Everyone Should Respect Kannada Language’

Shakeel Ahmed, retired headmaster of an Urdu school, said that everyone living in the state of Karnataka should respect Kannada language and learn it.

He spoke while participating in the monthly Sahitya Saurabha program held by the town’s Kannada Sahitya Parishad.

He said that he learned Kannada language and served as a Kannada teacher because he had an interest in Kannada language, and he still actively participates in the programs of Honnali and Nyamati Kannada Sahitya Parishad. He said that the work of identifying many local talents through the Saurabha program conducted by the Sahitya Parishad is commendable.

Kannada language has its own place among other languages ​​of the world. It is regrettable that the situation has come to where Kannadigas are being told to love Kannada language first, said M.P.M. Shanmukhaiah, general secretary of the State Retired Employees’ Association.

Sanyasi Kodamaggie social worker S Saubhagyamma expressed her disappointment over the non-active participation of the executive committee in the Kannada Sahitya Parishad program.
