Key election officials in the district underwent detailed training on Special Electoral Revision to ensure accurate and up-to-date voter lists.

On Saturday, the Chief Electoral Officers conducted an in-depth training session via video conference for key election officials of the six assembly constituencies in the district. The program focused on the Special Comprehensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and offered detailed guidance for field operations.

The training emphasized the importance of carrying out the SIR process thoroughly across all constituencies. Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) and their assistants were instructed to prepare all necessary documents and data beforehand to ensure smooth and accurate implementation.

Held at the KSWAN Video Conference Hall in the District Collector’s office, the session was attended by Additional District Election Officer and Additional District Collector B.T. Kumaraswamy; Sub-Divisional Officer and Chitradurga Assembly Constituency ERO Mehabub Jilani Qureshi; Electoral Officers of Molakalmuru, Seniorur, Challakere, Hosadurga, and Holalkere constituencies; Special Land Acquisition Officers Venkatesh Naik, H.N. Chandrakumar, and T. Suresh Kumar; Director of Urban Development Fund Project Reshma Hanagal; along with all Assistant EROs, Tahsildars, and the municipal commissioner of Chitradurga City Municipal Corporation.

During the session, officials provided step-by-step instructions for conducting fieldwork, addressing potential challenges, and ensuring the accuracy of electoral data. Participants were briefed on best practices to maintain transparency, efficiency, and reliability throughout the revision process. The training aimed to equip all officials with the knowledge and tools needed to carry out the Special Comprehensive Revision effectively, ensuring that the electoral rolls are up-to-date and accurately reflect eligible voters in each constituency.
