North City Corporation intensifies civic inspections across Banaswadi

The Bengaluru North City Corporation has stepped up its efforts to improve civic infrastructure and ensure cleaner neighborhoods. Additional Commissioner Latha on Friday carried out a series of inspections in Ward No. 27, Banaswadi Sub Division, covering key public works and sanitation activities.

During the visit, the officer reviewed the ongoing white-topping works, storm water drain improvements, beautification measures, and pedestrian pathway projects. She directed engineers to prioritize filling potholes on HRBR Layout Main Road without delay, stressing that commuters’ safety must not be compromised.

Addressing cleanliness issues, she inspected garbage “black spots” in HRBR Layout and instructed health officials to clear waste immediately and take up beautification to prevent repeated dumping. The emphasis was on ensuring visible improvement in cleanliness standards in residential areas.

Later, Smt. Latha inspected the Pourakarmika (PK) mustering point at HRBR 1st Block. Interacting with sanitation workers, auto drivers, and loaders, she issued clear instructions on discipline and safety. Workers were reminded to report on time for duty, use safety gear while on the job, and maintain neat sweeping practices across their designated areas.

The Inspection drive, officials said, is part of BNCC’s larger plan to tighten monitoring, improve accountability, and enhance service delivery at the ward level. Residents of Banaswadi have welcomed the move, expressing hope that strict follow-up by senior officials will bring long-lasting changes to road safety and sanitation in their neighborhoods.
