Shivakumar Highlights HAL’s Innovation, Skill Development, and Defense Sector Impact

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar on Friday visited the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) unit in Bengaluru, where he held detailed discussions with officials on the company’s ongoing projects and technological advancements.

During the visit, officials briefed the Deputy Chief Minister on various aspects of HAL’s operations, including the design, development, and production of aircraft, helicopters, engines, avionics, electronics, and spare parts. Shivakumar interacted with the technical teams and reviewed the company’s contributions to India’s aerospace and defense sectors.

Speaking after the inspection, Shivakumar hailed HAL as one of the nation’s most prestigious institutions, emphasizing its central role in strengthening India’s self-reliance in defense manufacturing. He noted that the organization has not only enhanced the country’s technological capabilities but also created opportunities for innovation, skill development, and employment.

The Deputy Chief Minister further underlined the need for continued government support to HAL and similar institutions that are vital to the nation’s progress. “HAL is a matter of pride for every Indian. Its contributions to national defense and industrial growth have made it an integral part of India’s nation-building journey,” he said. Officials present during the visit reiterated HAL’s commitment to pursuing cutting-edge research and expanding its production capacity to meet both domestic and international demands. Shivakumar’s visit highlighted the government’s recognition of HAL’s achievements and its role in positioning Bengaluru as the hub of India’s aerospace industry.
