Chikkaballapur plans International Democracy Day celebrations

The district administration has announced detailed preparations for the upcoming International Democracy Day on September 15, including cycle and bike rallies, to be held in collaboration with all government departments. District Commissioner P.N. Ravindra, presiding over a pre-event planning meeting at the DC office on Friday, instructed officials to ensure thorough arrangements for a successful and meaningful celebration.

The day will feature a bike rally, starting at 8:00 AM from the District Commissioner’s office in Chikkaballapur and proceeding to Bengaluru’s Vidhan Soudha, where the main International Democracy Day event will take place. Simultaneously, a cycle rally will take place within Chikkaballapur city, beginning at 8:30 AM from the district administration building. The route will pass through Shidlaghatta Circle, Kannada Bhavan, BB Road, Ambedkar Bhavan, and return to the DC office by 10:00 AM. Participants in the cycle rally will receive T-shirts, caps, and certificates. Online registration has been made mandatory for interested participants.

Officials have been directed to ensure provision of drinking water, light refreshments, seating, police deployment, health services, ambulance, traffic management, and parking facilities. The administration expects over 1,000 participants, including citizens, elected representatives, departmental staff, and members of local organizations.

Key officials present at the planning meeting included Zilla Panchayat CEO Dr. V. Naveen Bhatt, Senior Police Officer Kushal Chaukse, Additional DC Dr. N. Bhaskar, Social Welfare Deputy Director Tejanand Reddy, District Health and Family Welfare Officer Dr. Mahesh Kumar, and other departmental heads. The administration urged all citizens and representatives to actively participate and celebrate the democratic spirit of the district.
