Inspection held at Kempapura metro construction site to prevent traffic snarls

Joint inspection conducted to ease traffic congestion near metro construction site in North Bengaluru.

Bengaluru’s traffic police, in coordination with the Assistant Commissioner of Police (Traffic – North), on Thursday inspected the ongoing metro construction work near Kempapura, falling under the jurisdiction of Hebbal Traffic Police Station. The visit aimed to assess the impact of construction activities on vehicular movement and to issue necessary directions for congestion management.

The Kempapura stretch is a critical connector for thousands of daily commuters traveling between Hebbal, Nagawara, and the northern suburbs. With metro work progressing in the area, heavy traffic buildup during peak hours has become a frequent concern for road users. Recognizing this, senior officers joined local traffic police personnel to review the site and chalk out immediate measures.

Officials emphasized the need for better barricading, clear diversion signs, and deployment of additional traffic marshals to streamline vehicle movement. They also stressed coordination between metro contractors and the traffic police to ensure that road space is optimally utilized without compromising commuter safety.

The ACP highlighted that timely interventions and preventive steps are essential to avoid bottlenecks and to minimize inconvenience to the public. Instructions were issued to monitor the situation regularly and adapt strategies as construction advances.

The inspection reflects the traffic department’s proactive approach in addressing congestion hotspots and ensuring smoother movement for citizens as Bengaluru undergoes rapid infrastructure development.
