Samrat narrowly misses final, Divya shines

India’s Samrat Rana narrowly missed qualifying for the finals in the Men’s 10m Air Pistol event at the ISSF World Cup in Ningbo, China. He finished 10th overall with a score of 582-20x. Despite matching the total score of the eighth-place shooter, Iran’s Vahid Golkhandan, Rana lost out on the count of inner 10s, falling short by five.

Among other Indian shooters, Amit Sharma scored 576-18x to finish 28th, while Nishant Rawat ended in 42nd place with 568-11x. The gold medal was won by China’s Kai Hu, the reigning Asian Champion, with a score of 242.3. His teammate Changjie You took silver, and Switzerland’s Jason Solari won bronze.

In Women’s 25m Pistol, Divya T.S. impressed with a steady performance in the Precision Stage, scoring 291-14x to place seventh. With the Rapid-Fire Stage set for tomorrow, she remains in strong contention for a finals berth.

Other Indian women in the event include Abhidnya Patil (19th) and Olympian Rahi Sarnobat (26th).

Day 3 will also see Indian shooters in the Men’s 10m Air Rifle event, competing against top global names including Olympic and world champions.
