Mysuru University Question Repetition Draws Activist Complaint

Mysuru

Students who appeared for the third-semester BEd examination conducted in June under the CBCS and CAGP scheme at the University of Mysore (UoM) were left in a dilemma after a question was repeated in the same section of the paper. Social activist R.N. Sathyanarayana, a resident of Vijayanagar 4th Stage, Mysuru, has formally written to the Vice-Chancellor, Registrar (Administration), and Registrar (Examination) of UoM, seeking justice for the affected students and urging action against the officials responsible.

According to Sathyanarayana, in Section B of the Inclusive Education paper, students are required to answer five out of six questions, each carrying five marks. However, question number eight, “Mention the educational provisions for children with learning challenges,” was repeated as question number eleven, leaving students with no real choice in selecting five out of six questions.

Sathyanarayana described this as a case of negligence on the part of the Board of Examination (BoE) and irresponsible framing of the question paper by the professors. He expressed that the repetition caused undue stress and confusion among students and demanded strict action against all those involved, including BoE members, to ensure accountability and prevent such errors in future examinations.
