Potholes at Basaveshwara circle repaired promptly

GBA deploys advanced technology to enhance road safety and ensure smoother travel for city commuters.

The Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) on Monday carried out urgent road repair works at Basaveshwara Circle, a major junction in the city’s central limits, by deploying advanced jet patcher machines to fill potholes. The step comes as part of the civic body’s ongoing efforts to improve road quality and ensure smoother, safer movement for commuters.

Basaveshwara Circle, which connects several key roads leading to Vidhana Soudha, Race Course Road, and Malleshwaram, witnesses heavy vehicular density daily. The presence of potholes had been a cause of inconvenience and posed safety risks, especially during peak traffic hours. Responding to citizen concerns, GBA mobilized its road maintenance teams early in the day to carry out the repairs without major disruption to traffic.

Officials highlighted that the use of jet patcher technology enables faster and more durable repairs compared to conventional methods. The technique involves spraying emulsion and aggregate mix under pressure to fill potholes, thereby minimizing the chances of re-damage during rain or heavy usage.

The Authority reiterated that citizens’ safety and smooth travel remain their top priority. Regular inspections are being undertaken across the city to identify damaged stretches and address them promptly. Engineers have also been instructed to adopt preventive measures, ensuring road surfaces are maintained at optimal standards.

The repair at Basaveshwara Circle is one among several ongoing initiatives under the GBA’s road infrastructure improvement plan, aimed at making Bengaluru’s transport network more reliable and commuter-friendly.
