Karnataka’s Minister for Finance and Energy, DK Shivakumar, held a constructive meeting on Monday with Shri S.V. Desai, Whole Time Director and Senior Executive Vice President of Larsen & Toubro (L&T), along with his senior team, to discuss the state’s infrastructure development and future growth opportunities.
During the interaction, the discussion focused on ongoing and upcoming infrastructure projects across Karnataka, including urban development, road networks, smart city initiatives, and industrial corridors. The Minister highlighted the state government’s commitment to creating a robust investment climate and stressed the importance of private-sector participation in achieving sustainable growth.
Shri Desai and his team shared insights on L&T’s current projects in Karnataka and potential areas where collaboration with the state government could accelerate development. Both parties explored ways to enhance public-private partnerships to improve infrastructure delivery, reduce project timelines, and incorporate innovative technologies.
The meeting also addressed key challenges such as funding mechanisms, land acquisition, and regulatory approvals, with an emphasis on streamlining processes to facilitate smoother execution of large-scale projects. DK Shivakumar assured full government support and underscored Karnataka’s focus on inclusive growth that benefits citizens and industries alike. Officials said the discussions were aimed at fostering stronger cooperation between the state government and leading corporates to leverage expertise, create employment opportunities, and drive Karnataka’s long-term economic development.
