Ex-RJD Leader Sparks Controversy Over Tejashwi’s Wife

RemarksRJD leader Rajballabh Yadav sparks outrage with derogatory remarks about Tejashwi Yadav’s wife

Nardiganj

In Bihar, former Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Rajballabh Yadav has ignited a political storm with a derogatory comment about Tejashwi Yadav’s wife, Rajshree Yadav. Speaking at a public meeting in Nardiganj, Nawada district, Rajballabh questioned why Tejashwi married outside Bihar, asking, “Was he getting a woman or a jersey cow? Are there no girls left here?” The video of his remarks has gone viral online, though its authenticity has not been independently verified.

Rajballabh Yadav, recently released from jail after nine and a half years following his acquittal in a minor rape case, made the statements while criticizing the RJD leadership. Tejashwi Yadav, Bihar’s opposition leader, married his schoolmate Rachel Codinho in 2021, who now goes by Rajshree Yadav.

The RJD strongly condemned the comments. Senior party leader Kaushal Yadav stated that the remarks were not only a personal attack on Rajshree but also an affront to the dignity of backward and Dalit communities.

This controversy adds to Bihar’s charged political environment, coming just days after a separate row over viral videos showing unidentified men allegedly abusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his late mother during a Congress event in Darbhanga. The incident has sparked widespread debate over political decorum and respect for individuals’ personal lives in the state.
