The Bengaluru Traffic Police issued a precautionary advisory on Friday for commuters travelling through Sanjaynagar Cross. According to officials, there is a high risk of tree branches falling along the stretch from Sanjaynagar Cross towards the HQTC Gate. In the interest of public safety, motorists and pedestrians have been urged to avoid this route and use alternative roads until clearance work is completed. Authorities said that heavy rains and strong winds in recent days have weakened several tree branches in the locality, raising the chances of sudden breakage. Civic workers from the BBMP forest cell and maintenance teams have been alerted, and trimming of overhanging branches is expected to be taken up immediately to reduce the danger.
Traffic police have deployed personnel to guide vehicles away from the vulnerable stretch and ensure smooth movement on diversion routes. Commuters heading towards the HQTC Gate have been advised to take parallel roads through RMV 2nd Stage and other connecting bylanes as temporary alternatives.
Residents of the area have also been cautioned to stay alert while walking or parking vehicles under large trees. Officials have assured that the affected stretch will be reopened only after it is declared safe for movement. The police have appealed to the public for cooperation, stating that the advisory is a necessary precaution to avoid accidents and ensure uninterrupted traffic flow during the festival season.
