Bengaluru South District
The Government of Karnataka has unveiled plans for the Greater Bengaluru Integrated Township (GBIT) at Bidadi, 30 km from Bengaluru. Envisioned as India’s first and largest AI-powered city, GBIT will span 8,493 acres across nine villages, positioning itself as Bengaluru’s second Central Business District.
Key Highlights:
- Economic Growth: Over 2,000 acres earmarked for AI industries, connected by a 300m-wide economic corridor linking STRR, NICE Road, NH-209 and NH-275.
- Employment: Expected to generate lakhs of jobs with a “local first” employment policy and skilling centres for future-ready industries.
- Urban Mobility: Designed with 70m arterial roads, ring roads and expressways to ease Bengaluru’s congestion and promote walk-to-work culture.
- Quality of Life: Integrated housing, healthcare, education, culture, and over 1,100 acres of parks for a sustainable city.
Farmer-Centric Approach:
Farmers will be treated as partners with a robust Rehabilitation and Resettlement policy, annual annuities, housing sites, tax exemptions, and skilling support. Villages within the township will be upgraded with smart-city amenities while retaining community spaces.
