Farhan Akhtar gives update on Jee Le Zaraa

Filmmaker Farhan Akhtar has confirmed that his much-awaited film Jee Le Zaraa is still in the works, though it has been delayed. Initially announced in 2021 with Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra, and Katrina Kaif as leads, the film faced multiple scheduling issues. In an interview, Farhan shared that while the film is not shelved, it is currently “on the back burner.”

He explained, “I would hate to say that it’s shelved. It’s a film that will happen. A lot of work has already been done — location scouting is finished, songs are recorded.” However, when asked about the cast, he added, “I can’t comment on that anymore. It depends on how things come together.”

Alia Bhatt had earlier stated that aligning schedules for the original trio was difficult but remained hopeful the film would be made.

Jee Le Zaraa was announced as a road-trip movie celebrating female friendships and was meant to mark Farhan’s return to directing after Dil Chahta Hai.

In the meantime, Farhan is focused on his upcoming film 120 Bahadur, based on the 1962 Battle of Rezang La. The movie releases on November 21 and stars Raashii Khanna, Vivian Bhatena, and Eija Khan.
