BJP women protest over remarks on PM’s mother

Ranchi
The BJP Mahila Morcha staged a large protest in Ranchi on Monday against alleged objectionable remarks made about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother during a recent Congress event in Bihar.

Hundreds of BJP women gathered at Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium and began a march towards the Congress headquarters on Shraddhanand Road. However, their rally was stopped by police near Ranchi University, leading to a brief scuffle.

According to eyewitnesses, protesters attempted to breach police barricades, but were pushed back. Some women reportedly suffered minor injuries during the altercation. BJP leaders insisted their march was peaceful, but accused the police of using unnecessary force.

The protest was led by senior leaders including Arti Kujur, Kumud Jha, Payal Soni, and Neelam Chaudhary. They strongly condemned the Congress, accusing the party of disrespecting women by allowing such comments against the Prime Minister’s mother.

In anticipation of unrest, heavy police deployment and barricading were in place around the Congress office. Additional forces were kept ready.

In a later statement, the Jharkhand BJP said: “Congress has insulted not just one mother, but women across India. Their hunger for power has blinded them to decency. The people will not forgive this.”
