‘Param Sundari’ Opens Strong, Collects ₹7 Crore Day 1

Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor’s new film Param Sundari had a promising start at the box office on its opening day. Released on Friday, the film collected ₹7.37 crore. He noted that the film performed better than expected, especially since it did not rely on discounted ticket offers or promotional schemes. Its earnings were also higher than Shahid Kapoor’s Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, which opened at ₹7.02 crore.

Adarsh added that strong spot bookings and the advantage of being a solo release boosted the film’s first-day performance. The movie’s youthful love story, along with its hit songs, particularly Pardesiya, attracted young audiences to theatres. With positive word of mouth, the film is expected to see further growth over the weekend, setting the stage for a strong first week.

Directed by Tushar Jalota, the romantic drama marks the first on-screen pairing of Sidharth and Janhvi. The story follows Param, a fun-loving Punjabi boy from Delhi, who falls in love with Sundari, a girl from Kerala, leading to a vibrant mix of cultures and emotions.

Sharing his excitement, Sidharth said that Param Sundari reminded him of the classic romances he grew up watching but with a fresh and modern take. Janhvi, meanwhile, expressed how portraying Sundari connected her deeply to her South Indian heritage and the beautiful setting of Kerala, where much of the film was shot.
