Union Minister for Communications and Development of the North Eastern Region, Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, inspired students at ESYA, the annual tech fest of IIIT-Delhi, calling upon India’s youth to shape the nation’s next chapter as Vishwaguru Bharat. Drawing on India’s illustrious history as a hub of knowledge, Scindia highlighted contributions from Aryabhata, ancient universities like Nalanda and Takshashila, and breakthroughs in medicine and science, emphasizing that the spirit of inquiry remains embedded in Indian DNA.

Calling the tech fest a “launchpad to enact bold dreams,” the minister urged students to leverage technology responsibly. He noted that just as IT transformed India 40 years ago, AI today offers similar transformative potential—but must be harnessed ethically to elevate humanity. He highlighted India’s growing role in frontier technologies, citing over 120 TTDF-backed projects spanning quantum computing, terahertz communication, bio-nano systems, indigenous chipsets, and encrypted routers. Scindia reaffirmed India’s ambition to lead in 6G and contribute at least 10% of global patents by 2030, with students at the heart of this drive.

Emphasizing civilizational values, he urged students to develop solutions for farmers, children in digital classrooms, and patients in remote towns. Addressing those studying abroad, he encouraged them to return and transform brain drain into brain gain. He concluded with three guiding principles: “Be Bold, Be Rooted, Build for Bharat,” inspiring the next generation to carry India’s legacy forward on the global stage.
