IAF Chief urges unified approach for threats

The conference emphasized operational strength, synergy, and EAC’s crucial role in securing India’s northern and eastern borders

Indian Air Force Chief Amar Preet Singh on Friday called for a unified approach to tackle emerging threats and ensure high preparedness across all commands. Speaking at the Commanders’ Conference held at Eastern Air Command (EAC) headquarters in Shillong, he stressed the importance of coordination and readiness to respond to any situation effectively.

The four-day conference, running from August 27 to 30, focused on strengthening operational capabilities and improving synergy with other armed forces. Air Chief Marshal Singh highlighted the key role of EAC in safeguarding India’s northern and eastern borders, underlining the strategic importance of the region for national security.

During the event, trophies were awarded to Air Force Stations excelling in operations, maintenance, and administration. The Chief also interacted with students from Air Force School, Kendriya Vidyalaya, and UMEED Vidya Kiran School, inspiring them and leaving a lasting impression on young minds, according to Defence spokesperson Lt Col Mahendra Rawat.

Air Chief Marshal Singh was received by Air Marshal Surat Singh, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of EAC, and was accorded a guard of honour upon arrival. He met all Commanders and senior officers to discuss operational readiness and upcoming initiatives.

Earlier, Air Marshal Surat Singh visited Air Force Station Kalaikunda to preside over the valedictory function of the 213 pilot course. Trophies were presented to pilots who excelled in their training, and the Air Marshal congratulated them on their achievements. The conference underscored the IAF’s commitment to maintaining a high state of readiness, strengthening border security, and fostering collaboration across commands to meet evolving security challenges effectively.
