Sandalwood star Shivarajkumar is set to play the lead in the upcoming film Dad, a project that has already generated buzz with its intriguing title. The movie had its grand launch at the historic Nandi Temple on Chamundi Hill, Mysuru, where the traditional muhurtha ceremony was held recently. The team has already wrapped up the first phase of filming in Mysuru, popularly known as the city of palaces, and preparations are underway to begin the second schedule soon.

The film is produced by Harish Peddi under the banner of Myra Creations. Well-known Telugu filmmaker Anil Kanneganti has taken charge of the story, screenplay, and direction. Interestingly, both the producer and director are making their first entry into Kannada cinema with this venture. Supporting them in production duties is B. S. In Dad, Shivarajkumar will appear as a doctor, a role he is returning to after several years. The cast also includes Sharmila Mandre, child artiste Baby Nakshatra, actor Babu, and popular Malayalam actor Suraj Venjaramoodu, bringing together a mix of talent from different industries.

Planned as a multilingual film, Dad is being made in Kannada, Telugu, and Malayalam to reach a wider audience. The film’s music is composed by Arjun Janya, while cinematography is handled by B. Rajashekar, promising both a rich visual and musical experience for viewers.
