Kannada superstar Yash is currently shooting for his highly anticipated film Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups. In a significant move for Indian cinema, the film’s entire stunt crew is made up of Indian professionals — despite being designed by Hollywood action expert JJ Perry.
Perry, known for his work on major Hollywood films, is leading a massive 45-day action schedule. While he is designing the high-octane sequences, all the stunts will be executed by Indian performers under his direction.
The makers called it a major moment for Indian action filmmaking. “Hollywood stunt legend JJ Perry, alongside Yash and Geetu Mohandas, chooses an all-Indian stunt team for Toxic’s 45-day action schedule — a landmark for Indian action cinema,” read their statement.
Toxic marks Yash’s return to the big screen following the blockbuster success of KGF: Chapter 2. Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Geetu Mohandas, the film also stars Nayanthara, Rukmini Vasanth, and Kiara Advani in key roles.
With international expertise and homegrown talent combining for its action, Toxic is shaping up to be a major cinematic event — and a proud moment for Indian stunt professionals.
