The Karnataka Union of Working Journalists (KUWJ), Ramnagar district branch, has received the prestigious Best Customer Award from BDC Bank. The award was presented during a special event held at Ambedkar Bhavan in Ramnagar, which also marked the celebration of Customer Day.
MLAs Iqbal Hussain and Balakrishna presented the award to the association in recognition of its outstanding banking relationship and contributions. Three years ago, the Ramnagar District Journalists’ Association opened an account with BDC Bank and initiated a welfare fund by depositing ₹15 lakh as a fixed deposit. Since then, they have maintained regular and responsible transactions, which earned them this recognition.
Representing the association, KUWJ State Executive Member Siddalingegowda (Madhu), District General Secretary T. Shivraju, and District Executive Committee Member P. Sudharani accepted the award on behalf of the organization.
The ceremony was graced by several dignitaries, including MLAs Balakrishna and Legislative Council Member S. Ravi. Former MLAs C.M. Lingappa and K. Raju were also present. From BDC Bank, President M.D. Vijayadev, Vice President Krishnamurthy, Director Y.H. Manju, and Managing Director Pundalik participated in the event.
In addition, Greater Bangalore President Nataraju, Ramnagar Urban Development Authority Chairman Chetan Kumar, Taluk Guarantee Scheme Implementation Committee Chairman V.H. Raju, and former District Panchayat President M.K. Dhananjaya were among the guests.
The event also saw participation from presidents and chief executives of various primary agricultural credit cooperative societies from across the taluk, making it a significant occasion for the local cooperative and media communities alike.
