Avani and Sneha shine in Hills Open

Indian golfers Avani Prashanth and Sneha Singh made solid starts at the Hills Open in Sweden. Both shot one-over-par 72 on the first day and are tied at 21st place. They were the top Indian performers among seven players in the field.

Avani had a tough beginning with three bogeys in her first six holes but bounced back well. She stayed steady with eight straight pars and ended strong with birdies on the last two holes. Sneha also finished with a 72, making four birdies and five bogeys.

New Zealand’s Momoka Kobori led the field with a four-under 67. She had three straight birdies on the back nine and leads by one shot. Seven players are tied in second at 68, including three Swedes and others from Norway, England, France, and Spain.

Among the other Indians, Hitaashee Bakshi is tied-48 (74), Pranavi Urs tied-71 (76), Amandeep Drall tied-86 (77), Tvesa Malik tied-107 (79), and Vani Kapoor tied-123 (82).

The Hills Open features 132 players in a 54-hole stroke play format. It is being held at Hills Golf & Sports Club and offers a prize purse of €300,000.
