KSRTC announces 1,500 festive special buses

The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) will operate 1,500 additional buses across the state to facilitate smooth travel during the upcoming Gowri and Ganesha festivals. The special services are being arranged to manage the surge in passenger demand as thousands of devotees and families travel to their hometowns for the celebrations.

According to KSRTC officials, outbound special services will run from Bengaluru and other major cities on August 25 and 26, ahead of the festival dates. Return services have been scheduled between August 27 and 31, enabling hassle-free travel for passengers returning after the festivities.

Additional buses will be operated from Bengaluru’s Kempegowda Bus Station (Majestic), Mysuru Road Satellite Bus Station, Shanthinagar Bus Station, and other prominent depots. The corporation has also planned services connecting district headquarters, towns, and rural areas to ensure maximum coverage.

KSRTC has urged passengers to book their tickets in advance through its online portal and authorized booking counters. Senior officials have assured that sufficient arrangements have been made to accommodate the expected rush, and special squads will be deployed at bus stations to guide travelers and maintain order.

In addition to festive services, the corporation has taken steps to provide enhanced passenger amenities, including additional enquiry counters, crowd management staff, and round-the-clock helpdesks.

The initiative is part of KSRTC’s broader effort to provide safe, reliable, and timely transport during major festivals when passenger numbers rise significantly. The corporation has requested cooperation from the public to ensure smooth operations during the festive period.
