ISRL teams can now retain star riders

Pune

As the Indian Supercross Racing League (ISRL) gears up for its Season 2 auction, a major update has been announced — teams can now keep up to two riders from last season. This new “Rider Retention” rule adds excitement and strategy, marking the first time such a rule has been used in Indian motorsports.

This move is common in global sports leagues, and now Indian Supercross joins that league. With 155 riders from 23 countries registering for the Season 2 auction, retaining riders gives teams a way to stay strong while planning their bids wisely.

Each team can keep one rider per category. BB Racing has retained star rider Jordy Tixier, winner of the All Stars category. Reise Motorsports continues with Thomas Remett, a strong 450cc performer. Big Rock Motorsports chose to keep Thanarath Penjan but released Matt Moss and Reid Taylor.

Gujarat Trailblazers are keeping Enzo Polias and plan to bring back junior star Brian Giles. Mohite Racing, however, has kept no one and will build a new team from scratch.

ISRL co-founder Eeshan Lokhande believes this season will be India’s best yet. With teams now mixing old stars and new talent, Season 2 promises thrilling races and fierce competition.
