Top water sports stars to compete at KIWSF

The first-ever Khelo India Water Sports Festival (KIWSF) will begin today at the famous Dal Lake in Srinagar. Over three days, more than 400 top athletes from across India will compete in canoeing, kayaking, and rowing.

The event offers 24 gold medals across these three water sports, attracting some of the best players in the country. Teams from Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, and Kerala are expected to perform strongly and battle for the top spots.

This festival is special because it is the first open-age national championship that brings together all 14 kayaking and canoeing events, along with 10 rowing events. These are all part of the Olympic sports program.

The KIWSF aims to promote water sports and provide a platform for athletes to showcase their talents in these disciplines. With the scenic Dal Lake as the backdrop, the competition promises exciting and high-level contests over the next three days.
