Narayanaswamy alleges Congress influenced by communists, urges CM’s resignation immediately
Bengaluru
Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, Leader of the Opposition in the Karnataka Legislative Council, has demanded that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah apologize to the people and resign over the Dharmasthala controversy.
Speaking at the BJP office, Narayanaswamy criticized the state government for repeated mistakes. He recalled the RCB Cup tragedy, where poor planning led to the deaths of 11 people, and said the government has now made another serious error. He highlighted that Dharmasthala is a sacred temple visited by devoted pilgrims, and alleged that the government misrepresented the issue, spreading false information that disrespected the religious site. He pointed out that the same group had previously worked at Sabarimala without producing meaningful results, yet they are now involved in Dharmasthala.
Narayanaswamy also claimed that communists influence the Congress government, calling it a communist Congress. He said communists surround the Chief Minister and shape party decisions. He noted that an anonymous person identified 13 locations in connection with the case, but no evidence was found. Legally, anonymous complaints should first lead to arrests and FIRs before investigations begin. Instead, the government promoted this individual and even made them head of the SIT, with the investigation reportedly carried out under their supervision.
He further alleged that the Congress gained nothing from the Dharmasthala case and is trying to cover up mistakes. Leaders like D.K. Shivakumar and D.K. Suresh have sought anticipatory bail, while Dinesh Gundurao allegedly pressured the investigation under communist influence.
In conclusion, Narayanaswamy urged the government to admit its failures, seek public forgiveness, and called on the Chief Minister to resign immediately, warning that ignoring the issue could further damage governance and public trust.
