Following the flash floods reported near the Nepal-Tibet border on August 26, the Uttara Kannada District Disaster Management Authority has urged families to immediately report information about district residents who may be missing, stranded or unreachable in Nepal.
The appeal covers tourists and citizens who travelled from Uttara Kannada to Nepal for tourism or other reasons. Families, friends or others with information have been asked to share the person’s name, age, address, mobile number, travel details, and the date and place of their last contact.
The administration said timely information would help authorities locate people quickly, ensure their safety, and arrange necessary assistance and coordination.
