Civic workers were praised as the backbone of society during a World Labour Day event held at Sri Guru Sachchidananda Math in Gadag. Several civic workers, including Shivu Jambaldinni, Vijaya Alahundi, Manjunath Bankadamani and Parashuram Yellapur, were honoured with shawls and saplings. The gesture also carried a message about protecting the environment and maintaining cleanliness.

Chief guest Babu Bakale, District President of Kranti Sena Sangathan, said the hard work of labourers cannot be measured. He added that both the government and society must safeguard their rights and dignity at all times.

Organization president Shakuntala Khulagunda explained that children attending a summer camp were invited to the event to help them understand the value of hard work from a young age. She said the group aims to guide and support civic workers in their daily lives.

Office bearers Jyoti Desai Gowdar, Vijayalakshmi Sooti, Deepa Ugalat, Komal Bevinakatti, Jyoti Kode and Rupa Bevinakatti were present. Many parents and children attended, making the event meaningful.
