District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner K. Lakshmi Priya announced on Tuesday that hearings regarding ‘first notices’ issued for unmapped voter entries and logical discrepancies under the Special Summary Revision (SIR) 2026 will be completed by the end of September.
Presiding over a consultative meeting with representatives of political parties at the Deputy Commissioner’s office, Lakshmi Priya noted that out of 65,248 flagged cases involving mapping errors, 64,749 notices have already been served. Field inquiries have been finalized for 39,804 cases, while the remaining 24,945 pending hearings are scheduled for resolution within this month. Additionally, authorities identified 85 cases concerning duplicate entries or deceased individuals.
In accordance with Election Commission guidelines, September 23 marks the final deadline to submit claims and objections, with the final electoral roll scheduled for publication on October 27. During the special voter registration drive conducted on September 19 and 20, the district received 2,613 applications for fresh voter enrollment, 89 objections, and 1,395 correction requests.
Regarding the Karnataka West Graduates’ Constituency, 23 polling stations have been designated across the district for 15,732 registered graduate voters. Unenrolled eligible graduates can submit Form 18 at Tahsildar or Assistant Electoral Registration Officer offices.
