True educators leave lasting marks on human hearts, declared MLC Puttanna during a vibrant Teachers’ Day celebration organized by the Negilayogi Samaj Seva Trust on Monday.
Speaking at the Adichunchanagiri Branch Math School, Puttanna noted that while tradition equates teachers with the divine, the finest mentors earn deep personal respect from their pupils. Anyone can recite textbook lessons, but exceptional guides discover hidden talents, impart core values, and prepare young individuals for adult life. He emphasized that dedicated instructors make immense contributions to building a progressive nation.
Adding spiritual insight, Sri Mallesh Guruji explained that genuine teachers dispel dark ignorance with the brilliant light of wisdom. While mothers nurture children first, devoted teachers serve as essential secondary guides who shape character. Presiding over the gathering, Trust President Patel C. Raju compared teachers to master sculptors who transform raw stone into masterpieces. He insisted that true schooling teaches empathy and social responsibility rather than rote facts.
The special divisional ceremony recognized several outstanding state educators with the prestigious Guru Award. Senior education officer Venkataramegowda, Shantiniketan Kumaraswamy, and Trust leaders including Thimmegowda, Ravi, and Mamata were present.
