State lawmakers have stepped up grassroots public outreach efforts, launching administrative campaigns designed to resolve citizen grievances directly at the local level.
Yeshwantpur Assembly constituency legislator S.T. Somashekhar formally inaugurated the “Government Services at People’s Doorstep” (Praja Seva Andolana) program at the Government Primary Health Centre premises in Kumbalagodu. Jointly organized by local district administrations, taluk panchayats, and the Kumbalagodu Gram Panchayat, the periodic initiative aims to bring governance directly to neighborhood residents. Addressing attendees, the MLA highlighted that the state administration has successfully delivered key pro-people welfare commitments over the past three years, citing flagship guarantee schemes including Anna Bhagya, Gruha Lakshmi, Gruha Jyothi, and Yuva Nidhi.
Detailing the structure of the outreach effort, officials announced that the program is not restricted to a single day of activities. Instead, administrative officers representing multiple departments will regularly visit villages on a recurring basis twice every month to document, evaluate, and resolve public complaints. Residents were strongly encouraged to submit formal applications for pending administrative needs.
Housing initiatives formed a core focus of the leadership’s address. The legislator revealed that structural blueprints charted by Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar target the construction and distribution of fifty thousand housing sites per district. Administrative machinery has already received strict directives to identify available government parcels for these housing layouts, reinforcing the government’s primary objective to secure stable shelter for marginalized, impoverished, and middle-class families across the region.
District Commissioner Kantharaju P.S. also addressed the gathering, emphasizing that bringing the administration directly to citizen doorsteps reflects a core commitment to public welfare. He urged local residents to maximize their use of the platform for swift grievance redressal.
The launch event saw high-level participation from regional administrative and political leadership. Notable attendees included Bangalore City District In-charge Secretary Ritvik Ranjan Pandey, Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Yatish R., Deputy Secretary Somesh, Taluk Panchayat Executive Officer S. Narayan, Bangalore South Sub-Divisional Officer Vishwanath R., Bangalore South Taluk Tehsildar Ashwath, local panchayat leaders, and numerous district-level officials.
