Tangadagi outlined Karnataka’s roadmap: 72,000 government jobs (with 371J quotas), 1,150 km Kalyana Patha roads, and Yuva Udyog Sethu private hiring

The state government has undertaken decisive measures to eradicate regional imbalances and lead Kalyana Karnataka onto a path of sustainable progress, stated Koppal District In-charge and Backward Classes Welfare Minister Shivaraj S. Tangadagi.
Addressing the gathering after unfurling the national flag at the District Stadium on Thursday during the 79th Kalyana Karnataka Utsav Day celebrations, the Minister paid rich tributes to freedom fighters who led the liberation struggle against Nizam rule. Recalling history, he noted that while India gained independence on August 15, 1947, the Hyderabad-Karnataka region remained subjugated until Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel launched Operation Polo, leading to liberation on September 17, 1948. He honored leaders including Swami Ramananda Theertha, Sardar Sharangowda Inamdar, and Koppal’s Alavandi Shivamurthy Swami.
Highlighting regional progress, Tangadagi outlined the government’s development roadmap under Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar. The administration has initiated recruitment for 72,000 vacant government posts, including Article 371(J) quota roles, while 1,150 km of roadways are underway under the Kalyana Patha scheme. Complementing this, the upcoming Yuva Udyog Sethu initiative will expand private-sector employment.
Marking the government’s 100-day milestone, the Minister reviewed the delivery of welfare initiatives across Koppal. Through the newly formed Prajaseva Department, taluk-level grievance hearings were held on September 12 across seven taluks, with a district-level meet scheduled for September 19 at Gangavati’s Amara Jyoti Sabha Bhavan.
Addressing agriculture, Tangadagi noted a 46% rainfall deficiency in Koppal, with sowing completed on 86% of 3 lakh hectares. However, crop insurance registrations surged significantly in 2026–27 to 1,56,013 farmers covering 1,49,987 hectares, ensuring vital risk protection alongside robust seed and fertilizer supplies.
