Major road development works begin across Dudda

Melukote MLA Darshan Puttannaiah recently performed ceremonial Gudali Puja to mark the beginning of several road development works across villages in Dudda Hobli, under the Melukote Assembly constituency. The projects, taken up by the Public Works Department, have a combined estimated cost of Rs 3.15 crore and are supported by a special grant from the Chief Minister.
The works cover important roads in several villages and are expected to improve daily travel for residents, students, farmers and other road users. About Rs 1 crore has been allocated for the main road near Sri Sai Niketan School in Avverahalli. Other sanctioned works include Rs 15 lakh in Avverahalli, Rs 25 lakh in Bilaguli, Rs 20 lakh in Kuri Koppalu and Rs 20 lakh in Chandagalu.
Further allocations include Rs 45 lakh for Beeregowdanahalli, Rs 15 lakh for Sampahalli, Rs 25 lakh for Shivalli and Rs 50 lakh for Hullenahalli. The MLA said the projects were planned to address local road needs and provide safer, smoother travel. He urged officials and contractors to complete the works on time without causing unnecessary inconvenience to residents.
Local leaders, officials and contractors attended the programme, including C.K. Nagaraj, Ramakrishna, Ningegowda, Siddharaju, Patel Shivakumar, Mahadevappa and Vinay Kumar. Public Works Department Assistant Engineer Jagadish and village representatives were also present. The new road projects are expected to improve connectivity and bring practical relief to people across the area.
