Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Nandini K.R. has directed officials to give special priority to registering all eligible youth aged 18 and above as voters.
She stressed the need to spread awareness about voting responsibility and the voter list revision process.
She said the revision work should be completed quickly and no eligible young voter should be left out. An intensive awareness campaign will be held on September 19 and 20, using schools, colleges, youth groups, Electoral Literacy Clubs and other platforms. Officials were asked to prepare action plans and use social media, jingles, stickers, displays and helpdesks to reach residents.
The CEO also announced a voter awareness music competition for Mandya youth. Online registration is open from September 4 to 9, and participants must create their own lyrics and music. Songs should highlight voting responsibility, elections, voter registration and youth participation. Each song should be in the local language, should not exceed three minutes, and must avoid references to religion, caste, community, political parties or individuals.
A jury will assess entries based on lyrics, music, creativity, message and ability to create voter awareness. The first prize is ₹10,000, second prize ₹5,000, and third prize ₹2,500. Every participant will receive a certificate. The winning song will become Mandya’s district voter awareness theme song, linking youth creativity with the campaign.
Nandini directed officials to coordinate revision and registration activities and complete them within the schedule. She said the campaign should help citizens understand their voting rights and responsibilities. The initiative is expected to bring more voters into the process and strengthen participation in Mandya district.
Mandya CEO orders faster verification of job proposals
Zilla Panchayat CEO Nandini K.R. directed officials to speed up verification of documents for Bill Collector and Clerk-cum-Data Entry Operator posts.
At a meeting, she reviewed 23 proposals and instructed officials to check records carefully, attach complete documents and provide clear opinions. She said committee proceedings must accompany proposals instead of simply forwarding papers.
Applicants with incomplete records may submit original documents until September 16. Officials were told to publish seniority lists and consider objections according to rules. Nandini also sought quick action on public complaints received through WhatsApp and other media, directing field visits, proper verification and timely reports on unresolved cases.
