Davanagere

Lokayukta officials conducted simultaneous raids at 14 locations linked to three government officers across Davanagere, Hubballi, Chitradurga, and Belagavi in connection with allegations of disproportionate assets.

The early morning operation targeted residential houses and offices of the officials, with multiple teams carrying out coordinated searches and examining financial records, property documents, and other materials.

According to officials, the raids were conducted on NWKRTC Chief Mechanical Engineer Siddeshwar Hebbal, Bayaalu Seeme Development Authority Secretary Krishna Nayak, and KRIDL Superintending Engineer Sanna Kenchappa. The action was taken based on allegations that the officers had amassed assets beyond their known sources of income.

Siddeshwar Hebbal was covered under searches at four locations, including his residence in Anjaneya Layout in Davanagere and his office in Hubballi. Krishna Nayak was subjected to raids at five places, including his residence in Siddaveerappa Layout in Davanagere and his office in Chitradurga. Similarly, Sanna Kenchappa’s properties in Davanagere and Belagavi were among five locations searched by Lokayukta officials.

A total of 12 Lokayukta teams were deployed under the supervision of SP M.S. Kaulapure to carry out the operation. Officials reportedly recovered documents and are verifying the extent of assets, bank transactions, and property ownership details.

Sources said preliminary investigation suggests discrepancies between declared income and acquired assets, prompting the coordinated crackdown. The seized materials are being analyzed to determine the value and origin of the properties.

Lokayukta officials stated that further action will be taken after completing valuation and verification procedures, and that legal proceedings will follow if evidence confirms disproportionate wealth accumulation.
