All shops and commercial establishments under Gadag Betageri Municipal Corporation must register under the Karnataka Shops and Commercial Establishments Act 1961 and Rules 1963. Owners, including those with or without workers, should apply online through the state e-Labour portal with required documents and fees to obtain registration certificates. Those already registered must also ensure compliance through the system. Labour Inspector Umesh S Hullanna warned that failure to register or violations will attract legal action. Authorities urged all business owners and entrepreneurs in the city to complete the process promptly and follow rules to avoid penalties and ensure smooth operations.
